Question:
I have been collecting adventure games for years now and im thinking of
selling them all to buy a playstation 3 and a 16:9 projector. I have a bit
over 100 games and plenty in mint shrink wraped original boxes. I think that
I would be happier with a console and just a few of my favorite pc games
like the gabriel knight series and riven and mist and some others but Im not
100 % sure that I need to keep my collection - If I played them all with the
time I give myself it would take many a years to go through them all but
that daunts me it makes me think it would put me off completly of adventure
games from over playing. So what do you think? Keep them and maybe sell them
in 20 years to make a good profit or sell them and keep just my favorites
and get a console?
Answer:
-Today's PC games are yesterday's comic books. Hold on to them and reap the
rewards much later, particularly the ones that are shrink-wrapped and in
mint condition.
To this day, I still hold it against my mother for throwing out my early
teen-years comic book collection. I had the number one Spider-Man and
Fantastic 4, among many other collectibles of today. Do you know what they
are going for today? Thousands!
-There was a post at Armchair Arcade by a guy who recently posted a
large archive of photos about all the old games and game systems he
had collected over the years. Looking at these photos certainly
inspired me about my own collection. You can take a look at:
