what's the greatest comic book cover ever?

Question:
what's the greatest comic book cover ever? Here is my nominee...
Amazing Spider-Man #50, July 1967 http://www.comics.org/graphics/covers/1570/400/1570_4_00050.jpg

Answer:
That is a great cover, but for Spider-Man my all-time favorite has to be this one: http://www.samruby.com/AmazingSpider-ManB/Large/AmazSpid33.JPG
It's pretty hard to limit my choices to just one. There have been so many iconic covers over the years, I'll just list five that I have found unforgettable over the years. Batman # 188. I love the image of Batman & Robin being "rubbed out". The story couldn't possibly live up to that(and it didn't): http://www.comicskins.com/csnnews/comfychair/comfy_backup/comfychair_... Mad # 1 is truly weird. It sums up Kurtzman's approach perfectly: http://www.collectmad.com/madcoversite/mad001printid.html Arcade The Comics Revue # 2. This really twisted my young mind when I first saw it in a head shop back in the 70s. (I went with my very straight Mom 'cause she bought incense there. Really.) A very creepy Crumb cover. I recently bought two copies of this issue just so I have an extra. It only took thirty years, but I finally got it! I wish I could find a bigger scan to show it better. http://sir.real.50megs.com/comix/catalog/screen/Arcade2.htm Adventure Comics # 431. Jim Aparo at his best: http://www.dcindexes.com/covers/adventure/adv431.jpg Jack Kirby's OMAC # 1. No matter what DC is doing to bastardize the concept of OMAC now, nothing can wipe away the impact of this cover. It really leapt off the spinner racks back in 1974: http://www.socalcomics.com/omac1nm.jpg
