Opening A Comic Book Shop

Question:
Amongst my many dreams and desires, one has long been to open a comic book shop.
Does anyone know of any reliable sources for information (books, online guides, etc.) addressing the best way to make this happen? i.e., how much capital is needed upfront? What sort of supplies one needs to begin, etc.?
Any positive, helpful, knowledgeable and/or thoughtful information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
-Chicago is a good market, but it is already well served by other comic book stores. I would find it hard to beleive he would not be aware of themm but comic fans stretch the envelope quite a bit.
If he has to ask for tips on opening such a store, he probably shouldn't be doing so. You shouldn't go into any business without knowing the market.(like most of the other comic book stores have)
Krause used to publish a trade mag for the comic book store owner, but I think the best advice might come from being able to look at the business as a complete outsider, There is a lot of tunnel vision in the industry for good and bad, mostly the latter.

-before you open it. Make sure you are independently wealthy so that you don't have to support yourself from the shop.
