I'm wondering about the popularity of the comic book stores
What is the first thing you do when you enter the comic book store...?
Answer:
-I click my heels together smartly, extend my right arm in a formal
salute, and roar, "Hail, Omnipotent Dave! I who am about to buy salute
you!"
That is, unless Wayne is on duty.
-1. Usually, dodge the kids who just wanna play Magic card games, and are
bugging the proprietor to call Mom.
2. Go to the counter.
3. Get the proprietor to give me my reserved comics.
One might ask, why do I go to a store where I have to put up with step 1?
I respond: I used to go to a store where I didn't. But it couldn't afford
to stay open reasonable hours. To go there, I always had a test of wills
with my boss over whether I could leave work in time to buy comic books.
Something was wrong with that entire concept, and I couldn't tell my boss he
was the wrong one.
